This is a two year course. The first year focusses on British politics, the second on American politics: Unit 1: People, Politics and Participation Unit 2: Governing modern Britain Unit 3: The politics of the USA or Ideologies Unit 4: The politics of the USA or Ideologies in Action The course is designed to encourage students to develop their critical thinking skills and to enhance their ability to interpret, evaluate and comment on the nature of politics. What could I go onto next? A-level Government and Politics is a good choice for students considering a career in the professions, or those who simply want to understand how the world works. Politics goes well with Economics, History, Sociology and English. Politics doesn't just appeal to Social Science students, increasingly Art and Drama students have enrolled to study Government and Politics, giving them a broader perspective on the world.
