English Language at A Level is an exciting and challenging course exploring language as a hugely versatile and fascinating communication tool. We are surrounded by millions of spoken and written texts; this course will enable you to understand how language works and how to use it more effectively. There will be many opportunities to analyse spoken and written texts produced by other people and to produce your own writing in a variety of forms, for a range of purposes and audiences. You will investigate how language is related to power, gender and technology; how young children acquire language and how and why language has changed over time.
