The programme provides a balance of both theoretical and practical activities completmented with computer-based exercises using the latest industry standard software packages. BTEC Nationals are QCF Level 3 qualifications designed to provide highly specialist work-related skills needed in Engineering. As qualified technician's, students have progressed to fulfil such roles as a Design Engineer as well as maintenance and servicing work on a variety of equipment. The course is made up of eleven units which includes 5 mandatory. Diploma units include; Computer Aided Manufacturing, Further Mechanical Principles and Applications, Properties and Applications of Engineering Materials, Engineering Design.
