Who is it for? Adult and child partnerships wishing to learn some skills together. What will I learn? You will learn some basic pottery techniques that enable you to make both functional and ornamental items for yourself, family and friends. Your pottery items will be decorated and glazed to add strength and colour. You will work alongside the adult or child who attends with you and have fun learning new skills together. Course outcomes: Learn some basic hand-building techniques: pinch, coiling, slabbing; use of forms and cutters. Develop a basic understanding of how to prepare clay to make shapes, store, decorate and glaze. See how to make a 3D Christmas tree using the slabbing technique.
