Who is it for? All welcome from complete beginners to more experienced potters. The workshop is led by Linda Crossley, an experienced potter and teacher who has been teaching ceramics for 12 years. Classes are intimate, relaxed and friendly and individual creativity is encouraged. What will I learn? • Techniques and skills in handling and manipulating clay to make decorative or functional items for the home or garden. • Decorating and finishing items using ceramic colour and glazes. • The basics of loading and firing an electric kiln. • Some personal research will be encouraged as will keeping a sketchbook of ideas and designs for projects. • Use of relevant tools and equipment. • There will be an opportunity to throw some pots on a potter’s wheel as part of the course. Course outcomes: Learners will be able to take home a number of pieces they have designed and completed. Please note there is a small charge of £1.50 per 500g of pottery taken home.
