Pre-Access Art, Crafts and Creative Media Certificate Level 2

This course will provide you with art & design skills, a collection of art work and a qualification which may be used for progression onto an Access to Higher Education Diploma course in art and design.You will have the opportunity to study a range of visual arts subjects whilst preparing to study at a higher level. Wolverhampton Adult Education ServiceCity Learning QuarterOld Hall StreetWolverhamptonWV1 3AU The course will introduce you to a range of art and media types, the research methodologies and art history that will prepare you for a higher level course whilst you develop your own working practice.You may study the following units:Working in Visual ArtWorking to a Visual Arts BriefResearch techniques in Visual ArtWorking with Mixed MediaPresenting Visual Art WorkYou will also have the opportunity to exhibit your artwork. You will get verbal feedback from tutors during sessions and also written feedback following regular tutorials. You will be given a detailed breakdown of your progress and receive an action plan to address any outstanding work. All of your achievements will be recorded in your Individual Learning Plan (ILP). On successful completion of the course you will be awarded a level 2 Certificate in Visual Art validated by the Open College Network West Midlands Region. Students are awarded 1 credit for approximately 10 hours of study which may be a combination of classroom and home study time. Credits are awarded at level 2; you will need to achieve 15 credits to successfully achieve the certificate. The certificate and resulting collection of artwork will allow you to apply for a place on an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Art & Design.
