More marketable skills for employment The opportunity to live and work abroad The Lower Sixth Year 12 - AS Level The Course - AQA German 7661 This course is designed to offer you an accessible, interesting and challenging Year 12. Topics and skills developed at GCSE will be broadened and matured. The topics will provide you with the language & skills to talk & write about issues relevant to you. The topics we cover are: 1. Social issues and trends family life, the digital world, youth culture 2. Artistic German-speaking culture festivals, traditions, art and cultural life 3. Grammar 4. Film or Text -Lola Rennt - Tom Tykwer The Exam There will be 3 papers for the AS Exam. These are Paper 1 Listening, Reading & Writing Paper 2 Writing exam on a film Paper 3 An oral exam Paper 1 lasts 1h 45m. In the listening section you control the CD. The reading section has comprehension questions like GCSE and in the writing section you translate from German to English. Paper 2 lasts 1h 30m with translation from English into German and then an essay from a choice of two questions on the film or text studied. Paper 3 lasts 12-14 minutes and is based on a discussion of two sub-themes from aspects of German society and aspects of German culture. The discussion will start with a stimulus card that you will have 15 minutes to prepare.)
