(As well as covering the A level study of Art and Design students will develop key skills in areas such as communication, ICT, problem solving and working with others. There are many careers in art, craft and design. Most study at Art school, further education, college or university. Students can go on to study a one year 'Foundation' course at an art college before applying to degree courses in more specialised areas of art and design. Careers where you will use the skills developed during this course are advertising, marketing,design, architecture,publishing and the media. The first half of this course (AS) is made up of two units: unit one Thermatic Enquirey and unit two an External set assignment. If you decide to progress on to A level there are a further two units: Practical work, personal study, and an externally set assignment.)
