English Literature

UPDATED 20161020 13:11:24

The study of Literature allows students to explore character, plot, theme and style across a range of genres and over a broad time scale, covering texts written in historical settings ranging from Middle English through Shakespeare, the Romantics and Victorians, right up to the present day. The course allows for a variety of student activity, including discussion, note-taking, personal research and coursework, as well as the traditional end-of-unit or end-of-year examination. The A2 part of the syllabus also allows a degree of personal freedom in the selection of the texts studied. Film and theatre visits contribute to the learning process.
