This Work Progressions programme is designed for young people aged 16-24, with moderate learning difficulties, working at Entry Level three. The aim of the programme is to increase independent living, functional skills, vocational skills and employability skills in order to access supported or open employment in the future. This programme is timetabled across three days. You will start college at 9am and finish at 2.30pm, 4.15pm or 4.30pm. You will learn through a variety of physical activity, participation, work experience and academic study. Projects set up in previous years have included Especially Cards Company and a newsletter project. You will also complete two vocational tasters. In previous years the options have included: ?Retail ?Horticulture ?Wheels Youth Community Project (an introduction to multi skills and motor mechanics) English and maths classes are streamed to enable you to develop these vital skills at a level and pace that is suitable for you. All Supported Studies students are offered the chance to join our annual Summer Camp in June. You would usually spend one night and two days at Camp taking part in a range of team building and enrichment activities You will undertake a work experience placement for a minimum of 30 hours during the year. Relevant placements are sourced that meet students' interests and offer an appropriate level of support according to individual needs. You will be accompanied to interviews, receive job coaching and travel training, if needed. Students also participate in enterprise projects where they work in teams to develop products and services.

This is achieved through course work presented in a portfolio which is verified formally both internally and by the external Gateway examiner. There is also the expectation that you would undertake a functional skills exam (in English, maths or ICT) by the end of the programme.
