In addition to our physical world, today's graphic designers have the power to create and influence how our digital world looks and feels. Websites, mobile device apps and graphical user interfaces such as computer operating systems and video game menus all rely on effective design to grab the user's attention. This programme is a great starting point for those seeking a career within the professional creative industries including advertising, publishing, marketing and web design. This programme will enable you to develop your own creative skills whilst learning the professional practices, processes and computer software packages demanded by the creative industry. You will be set projects and assignments to complete, whilst lessons and workshops will give you the opportunity to explore the following areas: ?Interactive design ?Typography ?Illustration and mark making ?Print and Editorial design ?Web and app development ?Idea and concept generation ?Image manipulation ?Navigational design You will get a real taste of the industry by working on live briefs and design work for local and national businesses, as well as the opportunity to gain work experience with design agencies. Students in the past have completed projects for Ocado and Affinity Water. You will have the opportunity to create your own personal brand and set yourself up as a freelance designer as well as participating in CV writing and interview workshops. You will finish the programme with a portfolio ready to show at university or job interviews.

Name: Level 3 Diploma in Art & Design Graphics and New Media Qualification title: Diploma in Art and Design (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment You will be continually assessed on the coursework produced for your assignments, receiving feedback throughout the projects to improve the quality of your work and stretch your ability. The final assignments you produce at the end of your first and second years will be externally moderated and graded either as referral, pass, merit or distinction.
