L1 Diploma in Bricklaying

On our Level 1 Diploma in Brickwork programme we will help to develop your knowledge of building, repairing and maintaining a variety of structures. You will also gain a good understanding of a variety of bricklaying techniques. All of our construction programmes are delivered at the engineering and construction campus, a purpose-built unit that simulates an industrial working environment for practical learning. Topics of study include: ?Setting out and building masonry structures ?Carrying out block-laying activities ?Carrying out bricklaying activities ?Carrying out cavity walling activities ?Health, safety and welfare in construction We have fantastic relationships with local and national industry leaders who provide work experience opportunities and take part in guest speaker sessions for our students. Last year, bricklaying students went to the Willmott Dixon Construction site in Essex to get a behind the scenes look at a major construction site.
