The BTEC National Award in Music progresses directly from GCSE Music or BTEC level 2 and gives students a deeper understanding of many elements of practical music making and music performance. These include performance techniques, ensemble skills, solo performance, planning and delivering a large-scale music project, studying Pop Music and community music. In a combination of practical group sessions and independently led work, students will develop and reflect on their own musical progress and creative expression. The course is portfolio based and students will enjoy a range of performance and practice opportunities throughout the two years.
