The event industry is a growth area that spans local, national and international activities in a diverse range of fields such as business conferences, major sporting events and regionally based tourism events such as the food festivals and Christmas markets. This course is designed to help you progress within the event industry. There is an ever increasing range of employment opportunities and career prospects for well qualified and motivated people. This course is designed to develop student's knowledge and understanding of the event industry, together with developing knowledge of specialist areas within the industry. Employability is a key component of the course as it enables you to develop new skills and learn about developments within event management. We have a wide range of links with industry both local, national and internationally and we work hard to ensure that these are reflected in the course in visits, guest speakers, work placements and any other opportunities to ensure the 'real world' is brought into sessions. You will develop your skills in diverse aspects such as IT, communication, time management, team work, research and problem solving skills as well as an opportunity to explore the diverse and global event industry.
