Law has an impact on everyone on a daily basis. Studying Law at A Level will give you an excellent grounding in where our laws come from, the English legal system and how rules are made and change over time. It will also inform you about your rights and responsibilities as an individual and how to enforce these. You'll develop your analytical and problem-solving skills and your ability to construct and communicate arguments effectively, all of which are essential for Higher Education. As well as providing a great foundation for a legal or business career, Law goes well with all other AS and A Levels and is highly regarded by universities. In A2 you will study criminal law (in much the same way as it is studied at university); you'll learn about the principles of criminal law, fatal and non-fatal offences against the person and property offences and legal defences.
