In the second year there are also two major learning themes. First comes 'The State and the People: Change and Continuity'. The second theme is entitled "Historical Enquiry" and looks at life changing events over a hundred year period. This includes a coursework essay based on historical enquiry of the student's own choice. These exciting themes will be taught within the historical context of Early Modern History - the 16th and 17th centuries in Britain and Europe
