Advanced Subsidiary GCE in Drama and Theatre Studies

UPDATED 20161019 15:01:23

Drama is an effective way for students to study, practise and develop valuable life skills. Communication, interaction, cultural differences, behaviour, citizenship and social responsibility are just some of the topics embedded within the study of theatrical performance. In Drama and Theatre Studies programmes of study are designed to allow students to develop a creative and imaginative response to a given stimulus. Students work individually, in pairs or in bigger groups to explore Drama skills on different levels. Students also study plays and theatre practitioners. Students study the history of the theatre and technical skills such as lighting, sound and set design. The extra curricular program supplements the lower school and post 16 curriculum.
