Students suitable for this course are those that have a lively interest in the world around them, current affairs, how people's lives are affected by the social group to which they belong such as their gender, class or ethnicity, the actions of various institutions in society and whether we have true personal freedom. They need to have good GCSE grades in at least one Humanities subject and be able to learn and remember lots of studies and theories. Students must enjoy debating and also be able to research meticulously, understand statistics and prepare well argued essays.
