A Level in Psychology

At AS, students will develop a broad knowledge and understanding of the core areas of psychology through a range of topics. These include Social Influence, Memory (Cognitive psychology) and Attachments (developmental psychology). In paper 2 at AS students study a Biopsychology unit alongside a range of Approaches in Psychology, Research Methods and Psychopathology. At A2, the specification offers a range of topic-based options which bring together explanations from different psychological approaches and engage students in issues and debates in Psychology. Examples include: Relationships, aggression, eating behaviour and schizophrenia.
