Studying Textiles can lead to University courses, College courses or employment in fields as diverse as interior designer, fashion design, pattern maker/cutter, product development, retail, buyer, management, theatre design and surface decoration (all professions with excellent career prospects). Students start work on their Personal Investigation; a research project into a fashion textiles designer of their choice (50%). They research into the designer's style and influences before designing an outcome in their style. A 2000 word assignment supports the investigation. On the 1st February the exam titles are made available and students work towards a chosen title for their examination piece which lasts for 15 hours (50%).
