The new A level introduces the students to key concepts and theories in psychology as well as developing the skills needed for research methods. There is compulsory content which includes topics such as social influence, attachment, biopsychology, memory and abnormal behaviour. Optional topics that the students and teacher will decide on include: relationships, schizophrenia, eating disorders, stress, aggression, forensic psychology and addiction.
