UPDATED 20161019 11:00:06

The WJEC Media Studies specification is designed to allow Media students to draw on their existing experience of the media and to develop their abilities to respond critically to the media. The course enables students to explore textual analysis and deconstruct texts from a producer's point of view. It also enables students to learn about how audiences can be manipulated and positioned by media texts. Media studies also focuses on the ever changing media industry, including technology and audience interaction. A-level Media studies include a combination of academic theory and practical coursework. Students must apply their studies to their own creativity. Practical coursework can include; graphic design, photography, video production and sound recording and editing
