Good design is vital to our world and economy. It is important, therefore that we enthuse the designers of tomorrow and impart a passion for designing their future. Develop your ability to design and make products that are fit for purpose. Have the opportunity to demonstrate your design and technology capability. Develop skills in planning, research, analysis, product development, project planning and evaluation. A Level Unit 3: Designing for the Future - Students complete an externally set question booklet, consisting of short-answer and extended writing type questions 2 hours long . A Level Unit 4: Commercial Design - Students design and make a product for an identified need and user. This is evidenced in a design folder with photographic evidence of the student making the product. This accounts for 60% of the A Level course.
