We live in a visual world; develop your visual literacy skills and be part of it. Enjoy experimenting with a wide range of media from big brushes on canvas to precise drawing and clay work. The choice is yours. A chance to be your own artist and have your own personal studio space. To build a portfolio to enable access to your chosen avenue of higher education. A Level coursework = 60%. Your chance to shine! It's all about the final pieces, use both lesson time and your own studio time to create the work you've always wanted to. Work will be directed by you and critiqued by us, preparing you for that university next step. There is an expected written content at this stage. A Level exam = 40%. Show off your level of skill with an exam which takes a similar format to that of the AS, but one which expects greater depth of understanding and refinement to be evidenced. For A Level you will have in-house assessments at given points during your first term. These do not get used officially but is a chance for you to know the grade your coursework would achieve in its current form. You will receive feedback on how to improve this grade. Official A Level assessments take place at the end of their respective years, both for the coursework and the exam, following the collection of ll work submitted.
