Active for Life - Shape up and Dance

This Shape up and Dance Gravesend is a low to medium impact cardio class, using dance based movements and some resistance equipment to tone and sculpt your body. , , By the end of this course you should be able to:, - Use basic resistance equipment safely, - Perform muscle, strength and endurance exercises, - Locate muscle groups, - Practise cardiovascular moves, - Exercise independently to music with minimal guidance, - Identify specific exercises for personal use outside of the class. , - Recount at least three ways in which exercises can benefit health and wellbeing throughout various life stages., , You will need to be able to follow verbal instructions, observe and copy physical movements and use spatial awareness within a group. Although there is no specific work set outside of the class, students will gain most benefit if exercises are performed regularly and practised between classes, , Anyone interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The course has been designed for anyone who would like to improve their fitness and health and enjoys dance based fitness classes

Entry requirements

You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Denim jeans, formal trousers, skirts or dress are not suitable for this activity. You should wear shoes with a soft sole. Sandals, boots or any footwear with a high heel are not recommended.
