Townscape Painting

If you are a complete beginner at painting townscapes and buildings or need a refresher, then this is the course for you. You will explore the subject of townscape through investigating the work of a range of artists and through exploring composition and different techniques in your work. You will have the opportunity to experiment and develop your own style through the creation of original pieces of artwork. , , By the end of the course you will be able to:, , Select from and use a range of methods of painting townscapes, Create depth in a townscape painting, Develop your compositional skills, Make reference to the work of other townscape artists, Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines., , There is no set 'homework', but you are welcome to practise and do further work at home., There is no qualification for this course., , , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. This mixed level course is suitable for beginners and those with a little experience.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Please do not buy anything especially for the course before it starts, but bring along to the first session anything you have already that you think will be useful, e.g. hard and soft pencils (perhaps H, B, 2B, 6B) and a sketchbook.
