Oil Painting - Beginners

If you would like to learn the skills of how to use oil paint and are new to the medium or need a refresher course on oil painting techniques then this the course for you. We will cover fundamental techniques whilst encouraging an experimental and expressive approach to painting, working from observation and secondary sources, such as the work of other artists. , , , By the end of the course you should be able to:, , Make choices about subject matter and composition in observational sketches, , Create form through painting , , Use oil paint and solvent in varying consistencies, , Use different methods of building up the layers of a painting including glazing and impasto, , Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines, , , There is no set 'homework', but you are welcome to practise and do further work at home., There is no qualification for this course., , , , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. This course is suitable for beginners and those with a little experience.
