Sewing - Learn to Sew

You will learn how to use a sewing machine and make seams, hems, buttons and zips as well as other dressmkaing techniques whilst working on a project of your own choice, , By the end of this course you should be able to:, , - Know how to thread up and use the sewing machine., - Demonstrate a range of hand and machine sewing skills, - Produce a range of sewing samples for future reference of seams, hems, zips, buttonholes, - Press and finish all the samples you have made., - Work on a personal project based on prior experience , , Some homework (optional) may be needed to complete the project by the end of this course This course at Tonbridge AEC is for anyone who would like to learn how to use a sewing machine and learn new or improve dressmking / sewing skills whilst working on a project of their own choice

Entry requirements

A well equipped sewing kit to include large and small scissors, hand and machine needles, seam ripper, tape measure, pins, threads. Paper scissors, ruler, notebook, pencil and rubber. As the course continues you will need to buy paper patterns, fabric and haberdashery- The tutor will give advice on these at the first session , , Please note that with all our craft courses , specialist equipment can be costly.
