This exciting new History Course in our Adult Education centre in Tunbridge Wells. How will you style your next Gatsby party?, This History Course will allow you to discover more about fashion in "The Roaring Twenties"., You will study, analyse and discuss iconic designs and designers as well as key elements of the 1920s haute couture. You will focus on the practical aspects of following the trends: how easy was it to actually , wear these clothes?, The influence of international affairs on fashion, will also be considered. You will investigate the effect of developments in manufacturing and industry., This course will also give you the opportunity to explore links between sartorial trends and political or cultural movements of the time and trace the stylistic legacies of this era - with particular reference to period drama costume design., , By the end of this course students should be able to, - Identify and discuss the key elements of 1920s fashion, - Name some famous fashion designers of the time and describe the key characteristics of their work, - Compare and contrast the fashions of 1920s Europe and America, - Access the practical suitability of fashionable clothing of the period, - Describe and explain the cultural and social forces influencing those years., , ,
