Art for Expression

Using a range of materials and processes you will be shown how to develop ideas and explore themes with a view to creating individual, expressive results. The emphasis is on learning and experimenting in a relaxed, informal atmosphere and gaining confidence in your ability to respond to subject matter in a way which is unique and personal to you. You will draw inspiration from a varied and interesting selection of primary and secondary resources and encouraged to bring your own areas of interest to the sessions., , By the end of this course you should be able to,, • Create individual pieces of artwork, • Use a range of art materials with increased confidence, • Design, prepare and print from your own printing block, • Generate ideas for further development , • Make informed, intuitive decisions about the progress of your artwork, • Recognise and respond to the techniques of selected artists, , There is no set 'homework' but you may wish to experiment with techniques or processes learned in the sessions and do further work in your own time., , There is no qualification for this course., , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. This course is for students who would like to try out a less formal approach to learning about Art. It is suitable for beginners and those with some experience.
