Drawing and Oil Painting

On this course you will explore a wide range of drawing and painting techniques and will be encouraged to develop your own style. Each project is based on a particular technique, subject matter or a style/genre of drawing or painting. This will include looking at historical, modern, contemporary and global artwork. Tuition is on an individual basis with relevant demonstrations to improve drawing and painting skills., By the end of the course you will be able to:, Use artists' research to inform your aesthetic and technical choices., Work from both 2D and 3D references., Widen your knowledge and understanding of drawing and painting processes., Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines., Anyone who has completed a painting course with KAE or has the equivalent experience., It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with the Programme Manager before you enrol.

You should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
