The Photography course aims to promote an broad awareness of photographic principles and consists of a mixture of theoretical, technical and practical experience. Film or digital cameras are welcome; digital users will be encourgaed to experience film and dark room techniques where film users will be introduced to the benefits of digital photography. The course will provide a grounding in basic camera theory; you will learn to explore photographic composition, experience processing and printing in the darkroom and discover the potential of imaging with Adobe Photoshop. The course is highly flexible and each course will be tailored to suit the needs of the students. You will be given a small photographic project each week to enable you to develop your image making throughout the course. , By the end of the course you will be able to:, Use Aperture/Shutter and Manual settings to achieve specific effects including controlling depth of field, motion blur and exposure, To demonstrate the relative merits of both RAW and JPEG capture, Develop a black and white print and process a roll of black and white film, Determine when using a tripod or high ISO is appropriate, Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines Beginners and those with minimal experience; the course assumes no experience. , If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with the Programme Manager before you enrol.
