This course is suitable for both the experienced printmaker and the beginner. Students are encouraged to bring in their own sources of inspiration, be it in the form of sketch books or photographs. These ideas are then transformed into a suitable print form. Techniques covered will include traditional etching, drypoint, collagraphs and linocuts. The print studio has presses for all these forms, which are known as relief and intaglio printing. A range of materials to support the student's work such as metal, plastic or lino plates can be purchased throughout the course.Students are required to bring an apron, a notebook but more importantly their own ideas to the course. Beginners or those with experience who wish to transform their own work into an etching and learn a variety of printing techniques., , It is important to note that Art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with the Programme Manager before you enrol.

You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. You will be able to buy some of the things you need from us at competitive prices.
