This course will cover the basic skills you need to make a stacked cake for a wedding or any other celebration. You will cover and stack 3 tiers, 1 fruit cake, 1 sponge cake and 1 'dummy' cake. The cakes will be decorated using royal icing piping detail, ruffles and topped with a small flower corsage., , By the end of this course you should be able to:, - Explain how to use fondant icing to cover fruit cake, sponge cake and an artificial 'dummy' cake, - Demonstrate how to pipe using royal icing , - Demonstrate how to create a flower corsage, - Explain how to make sugar ruffles and apply them to a cake, , There is no qualification for this course., This course is suitable for those with some previous experience in cake decorating. If you have not covered cakes in fondant icing before it would be advisable to attend a beginners course first.
