Sewing Bee - Make your own Clothes - Improvers

Study modern methods and make fashionable clothing successfully. A wide variety of clothesmaking skills will be studied. The course may include the adaptation of commercial patterns and light tailoring for those who are interested and at an appropriate level. Students will be expected to track and assess their progress., By the end of the course you should be able to :-, Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines., Thread up and use a variety of stitches on a sewing machine., Make and press an open seam, french seam and dart., Insert a zip., Sew on a waistband., Sew a hem by hand and machine., Produce a range of samples for future reference., Make a basic garment from a commercial pattern., Anyone interested in learning to sew, including those who have never used a sewing machine before. Those with experience who wish to learn additional techniques and have their own project ideas will also be catered for. The tutor will discuss your requirements with you in the first session and tailor the lessons accordingly.
