This is a great chance to learn something about yourself. Could you survive a night outside without the trappings of modern civilisation? Would you like to test yourself in 'wild' conditions? This one day course is designed to teach basic bushcraft techniques for surviving the great outdoors, all away from the comforts of home. The course will include fire lighting techniques, shelter building, cooking methods and making basic water and food traps., A vegetarian lunch will be jointly prepared and cooked on the day (optional), This course will be informative, challenging and fun and is set in 62 acres of woodland at Hadlow Down, East Sussex. , Meet at Wilderness Woods, Main Road, Hadlow Down, East Sussex TN22 4HJ, 01825 830509, The site is signposted on the A272, between Five Ashes and Buxted (opposite Hall Lane), , If there is sufficient interest we could organise a wild camping event. Please let us know if you are interested. We would normally need a minimum of 6 people to run such a course., This is ideal if you fancy something different to do in the outdoors.

Entry requirements

Students should wear suitable outdoor clothing and boots, along with back-up, wet weather gear. Be prepared for a wet day. The day will go ahead even in torrential rain., Essentials to bring: Gardening gloves,tea/coffee mug, cutlery, camping knife or penknife, and a bin bag for keeping spare clothes dry.
