Upholstery - Workshop

This two day Upholstery course is a practical course for students who want to develop upholstery skills and work on projects of their own choice. You will learn how to use webbing, bridal loops, springing, blind stitching, and horse hair on upholstery projects with demonstrations on general techniques given throughout the two course. This course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience., It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with a Programme Manager.

Entry requirements

Please bring a dining chair or stool to your this course or speak with the tutor about a suitable project, plus a 4oz tack hammer, old screw driver, small pair of pliers, scissors, needle and cotton, pen and notebook. This short courses is not suitable for large pieces of furniture as there is limited storage space available and sofas and settees cannot be accommodated. Students leaving furniture at the centre do so at their own risk. Apart from pens and notebooks please do not buy books or equipment before the start of the course most upholstery materials you need can be bought at the centre.
