Illustration, Pen, Ink and Wash. Learn how to use pen, ink and wash to create dynamic and illustrative tonal drawings. Following the rules of chiaroscuro ( dark and light) you can use simple techniques to create an atmosphere, using pen and brush strokes. Master the basic rules of proportion to draw simple figures both still and moving; analyse perspective to portray land and city scapes; use washes to add tone and effects. , For beginners and experienced students.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some of our centres have their own 'shops' where you are able to buy things at competitive prices.If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
