Inside Out - Drawing and Painting Summer School

A short course that will involve drawing and painting both on location and in the studio. Reference will also be made to the work of other artists as appropriate., , By the end of the course you should be able to:, Produce a series of simple studies using a variety of drawing and painting media., Make a preliminary drawing to establish a composition., Select and use the appropriate brushes and materials., Mix colours using basic colour theory., Produce small paintings in either oil or water based mediums., Work to health and safety guidelines., , There is no homework requirement for this course.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound, and a variety of pencils. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some of our centres have their own 'shops' where you are able to buy materials at competitive prices. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
