This is a City & Guilds qualification which has been designed for all new entrants as well as experienced engineers within the gas industry to provide them with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary for a constructive career within the gas industry. This is a license to practice and will enable you to be on the Gas Safe Register and work in the UK, Isle of Man and Guernsey.The course has been designed to provide candidates with a solid foundation within the gas industry. Candidates will learn about all aspects of domestic natural gas work and develop a range of practical skills at an advanced level in preparation for employment within the industry.The candidate will be assessed through the duration of the course in the form of assignments, portfolio evidence and onsite assessments in the work place. The final assessments will consist of both theoretical multiple choice question papers and practical in house assessments.Successful completion of the course will give the candidate a Diploma Level 3 in Gas Utilisation, Installation and Maintenance competence qualification which satisfies the Engineering Council requirements for Engineering Technician status and therefore enables the apprentice to become a professional engineer as defined by all the Engineering institutions (for example the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers – IGEM). This will support career progression to Technician, Supervisory and Managerial roles. This is a license to practice and will enable you to be on the Gas Safe Register and work legally in the UK, Isle of Man and Guernsey. A City & Guilds qualification is proof that you have the right skills to do your job well, which is why so many employers look for people who have one. You can be confident your qualification is well respected within your industry.
