Students will study a mixture of Tudor and Modern History. The Tudor course starts at Henry VIIs reign and continues to Elizabeth I. The Cold War course consists of a study on international relations during an era of tension between communist and capitalist powers which threatened nuclear Armageddon. Students will also have to complete a coursework assessment which focusses around an historical debate.
Name: History Qualification title: GCE AS level Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment History comprises of a mixture of internally assessed coursework, equating to 20% of the final course, with a further two externally assessed examinations taken in June of year 13 equating to 80% of the final grade. The coursework and the examinations will test students' ability to develop an historical argument and the use of source analysis. Students who have been entered for the A course will also be entered for the AS course automatically.
