This two year course aims to help develop the skills and knowledge required to gain employment in the uniformed public services. If you are interested in a career in the Police, HM Customs & Excise, Probation Service, Armed Forces, Fire & Rescue Service, Immigration or any public sector related job, then this is the course for you. Managed and taught by experts with experience in the police, military and outdoor education, this qualification requires motivation and a good academic level of achievement as it gives learners the opportunity to progress into Higher Education. The course is specifically designed to provide a balance between academic and 'hands-on'. You will take part in many practical activities including high ropes, climbing and kayaking, and you will be expected to maintain and improve fitness levels throughout. Along with developing your leadership, teambuilding and communication skills through adventurous activities, the programme requires written assignments and classroom work. The course aims for students to become fully independent researchers, so you will need to be disciplined in your time management of assignments. It is designed to give a realistic approach to achieving a career within the uniformed public services.
