Psychology

UPDATED 20161017 14:46:52

Psychology is the science of behaviour and experience. Studying behaviour involves focusing on what people and other animals actually do. Behaviour includes thinking, remembering and forgetting, growing up, being kind or aggressive, obeying or disobeying orders and being a parent. In studying experience, psychologists are interested in what it is like to be the person exhibiting the behaviour: how it feels to be them and why they behave like they do. You will sit two AS units in Year 12 which will lead to an AS qualification at the end of the year. For students who wish to continue into Year 13, the qualification consists of 3 stand-alone exams taken at the end of the year. The AS and A2 are independent qualifications - the marks and grade earned at AS do not count towards the A-Level qualification.
