Computing and computer technology are part of just about everything that touches our lives from the cars we drive, to the movies we watch, to the ways businesses and governments deal with us. Understanding different dimensions of computing is part of the necessary skill set for an educated person in the 21st Century. Study Computer Science if you want to explore and investigate how computers work and are used. You are most likely to enjoy the subject if you have a real interest in science, technology and/or mathematics; you are a logical thinker and enjoy problem solving.

Name: A Level: Computer Science Qualification title: A Level: Computer Science Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment On-screen exam - 2 ½hours (40% of the A-level) Short-answer questions based on Units 1-4 & 13 and a series of tasks based on adapting and extending the program in the preliminary material (a skeleton program, written in Python) provided to you a few weeks before the exam. Written exam - 2 ½hours (40% of the A-level) Compulsory short-answer and extended-answer questions based on Units 5-12.
