The French and Spanish A-Level courses offer students the opportunity to develop their ability to communicate (in writing and in speaking) in the target language. They will increase their range of vocabulary and knowledge of grammatical structures, thus gaining in confidence, fluency, autonomy and accuracy while discussing a variety of topics. Over the two-year course, students will develop a range of literacy skills, such as essay-writing and debate skills, as well as many other transferrable skills (i.e. research and presentation skills). Students will discuss a variety of topical issues from media, popular culture, healthy living and family and relationship at AS, to the environment, multicultural society, wealth and poverty, crime and punishment and science and technology at A2. Students will also be able to explore two cultural topics in their second year, such as the work of a film director or a period of history. The course will be a valuable asset for students beyond their A-Level, increasing their employability, mobility in the job market, etc.
