Component 1: Performance and Choreography. Students learn how to create an original piece of solo choreography which lasts for a minimum of two minutes and a maximum of three minutes, in response to an externally set task. They develop and apply the knowledge, understanding and skills required to perform dance, as a soloist. Students will also work alongside one/two fellow dancers to develop a performance which investigates characteristics of style within a genre(s). Component 2: Critical Engagement. Students will critically engage with both their own practice and professional practice to understand the interrelationship between the creation, presentation and viewing/appreciation of dance.
