Sociology GCSE

Sociology is the study of society. Sociologists study areas such as education family poverty crime and deviance and research methods. Through studying Sociology you can gain a better understanding of society and attempt to answer a range of questions on social issues such as why class gender and ethnic inequalities still exist in society. In class there will be a range of different activities: teacher-led presentations to introduce new theories and concepts; group work; researching evidence and assessing theories; independent work e.g. researching contemporary issues in the media; watching relevant documentaries / films that inform your learning.
