Product Design Fashion A-Level gives you the opportunity to develop your capacity to design and make products and to appreciate the complex relations between design, materials, manufactureand marketing. The subject will enable you to take a broad view of design and technology and to develop a wide range of skills, including working with others, thinking creatively and making quality products. Over the two years there are four main areas of study. Unit One is titled Materials, Components and Application; this is the examination part to your first year. Unit Two is titled Learning Through Designing and Making and is the practical, coursework part of year one. During year two you will work on Unit Three entitled Design and Manufacture - this is is the examination part of year two. Lastly there is Unit Four titled Design and Making in Practice and is the practical part to year two.
