Level 1 Diploma in Landbased Studies (Animal)

This course provides the opportunity for those who want to work with animals in the future to study towards a nationally recognised qualification in the subject. It will enable you to develop your practical skills in animal handling and husbandry and will back this up with a basis of theory work in a variety of animal related subjects. Students have the opportunity to work with and undertake a variety of husbandry tasks with a range of animals including small mammals, farm livestock and dogs. The course allows students to develop their personal and social skills helping to prepare them for employment or progression to the next course.
