There are compulsory units at both levels e.g. ? The physiology of fitness: Providing the learner with an understanding of the effects of exercise on various body systems e.g. skeletal system, the muscular system, the cardio-vascular system and the respiratory system. ? Assessing risk in sport: This unit will enable the learner to have a good understanding of health and safety and how they can take precautions in order to minimise the risk of injury to sport and exercise participants. Additional units for the Award and Certificate could include a selection from the following group: ? Sport coaching ? Sport development ? Practical team sport or Practical individual sports ? Fitness testing for sport and exercise ? Psychology for Sports Performance ? Sport nutrition ? Exercise health and lifestyle ? Fitness training and programming
